Raytheon ARMED: Fixed Wing Standardization Training Mentor (SMW 1st & 2nd SOAT) in Afghanistan

CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING Job Description: The SMW Fixed Wing Standardization Training Mentor shall train and mentor their SMW counterpart on the following strategic level aviation tasks: maintaining maintenance flight records tracking tools for all of the SMW four (4) SOAT located across Afghanistan, maintaining and updating recurring aviation certifications and training reports, aircrew currency tracking and reporting across the SMW’s, maintaining and updating strategic training plans for all of the SMW, maintain and develop formal aircrew syllabus management and tracking, ensure all recurring SMW evaluation requirements tracking tools are maintained and updated. The training mentor will be an expert in SMW Fixed Wing regulations pertaining to aviation management and assist the SMW Fixed Wing Squadron in educating SMW aircrew at the strategic level dealing with aviation management policies, procedures and published requirements. Additionally train and mentor SMW Fixed Wing Squadron aircrew in operational planning processes and procedures. They will implement and operate programs, practices, and procedures for developing optimal utilization of SMW Fixed Wing Squadron aircrew personnel to execute Afghan National Army Special Operations across Afghanistan. Design and administer programs to train all levels of personnel assigned to the SMW S3 Air Operations section. Coordinate class arrangements, conduct training classes, and develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keep abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Develop programs and practices to identify developmental needs including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. Candidate will be required to communicate status, issues and concerns with senior USAF SMW staff mentors for validation and certification of SMW counterparts on a daily basics. Required Hours: Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to ten (10) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites. Responsibilities: The SMW Fixed Wing Standardization Training Mentor shall mentor their SMW counterparts on the following tasks: flight records maintenance, recurring training reports, aircrew currency tracking and reporting, training plans, formal aircrew syllabus management and tracking, recurring evaluation requirements tracking. Mentor will become an expert in SMW Fixed Wing regulations pertaining to aviation management and assist the Fixed Wing Squadron in educating SMW aircrew on aviation management procedures and requirements. Required Qualifications: Former Air Force K11X or K12X, Fixed Wing Instructor Pilot or Fixed-Wing Instructor Combat/Weapons Systems Officer (or sister service equivalents) and attained the rank of O-4 6 years of experience to include a minimum of one (1) year of experience working directly as an advisor to foreign aviation forces or a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a unit specializing in this mission. Must have experience managing a flying squadron's (or higher) Standardization and Evaluations functions and Aircrew Training functions. MUST be trained on pistol and carry a pistol. Must possess a US Passport with at least 6 months of remaining eligibility Must be able to obtain a Visa for Afghanistan Physical & Mental Requirements: This is an ARMED position . Must obtain and maintain eligibility to possess & operate a firearm in Afghanistan (AFG). Must successfully complete/maintain all arming requirements including but not limited to: psychological evaluation; completion of Civilian Arming Authorization Mgmt System (CAAMS) requirements/documentation & Arming Authorization Letter from US Forces AFG; and Afghan weapons permit from the Afghan Ministry of the Interior Wear required personal protective gear: body armor, helmet, etc.; Independently lift/carry duffle bags with a max weight of 70 lbs/piece & move across uneven terrain Work & live in AFG with potential assignment to any location in AFG based upon needs of the U.S. Government or the Company Meet medical requirements for position as determined by a pre-employment medical screening in compliance with published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards Walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to 8 hours/day & sit for up to 3 hours/day; climb/descend stairs; grasp or handle objects; use finger dexterity; bend elbows/knees; reach above/below shoulders; read/interpret typewritten print; communicate by voice & detect sound by ear Work, live & respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances in a potentially hostile environment - at remote locations, under austere conditions - with extreme aircraft noise, hostile fire, other acts of aggression and/or extreme weather conditions Maintain emotional stability & behavioral composure, performing effectively during stressful situations Comply with orders, laws, rules & regulations Reliably complete tasks & duties with minimal supervision Appropriately modify behavior & demeanor to meet demands of a situation and mitigate risk to protect safety Refrain from using alcohol/substances inappropriately Aware of own limits; accept constructive feedback Solve difficult/complex problems Apply knowledge/reasoning & balance the risks/benefits when making decisions Multi-task without negatively impacting performance Maintain high standards of work Communicate clearly Engage as an active team member Respect diversity Security Clearance Requirement: -Must have an active/current DoD SECRET security clearance to access and handle classified and personal personnel material, attend project meetings, and/or work within restricted areas unescorted. Desired Qualifications: - Previous experience training and advising foreign military soldiers. -12 months experience in Afghanistan. Required Education: Bachelor's degree from accredited school & six (6) years of related experience, OR four (4) years related experience with Master's degree. Eight (8) years of additional equivalent work experience (14 total years) may be accepted in lieu of BA/BS education requirement. Contractor personnel shall comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders. All tours are unaccompanied 110879
