Textron Airborne Solutions provides training opportunities for military customers. The Training Officer (TO) at ATAC’s Adversary Center of Excellence (ACE) is a pilot position that oversees all pilot related training programs, syllabi, and scheduling for both ground and airborne instruction as well as all regional training requirements for operations under the purview of ACE.
The ATAC ACE TO will report to the Director of Flight Operations (DFO) at ATAC ACE, coordinate with the ACE Scheduling Manager (Scheds) and Standards & Evaluation Officer (Stan/Eval) and will be required to support all ACE Regional Directors of Operations (DO), the ACE Chief Pilot (CP), and the ACE Safety Manager (SM) for all activities related to Pilot training in Alliance Fort Worth and all ACE designated Areas of Responsibility (AOR). The TO will ensure adequate training materials, equipment, scheduling, and continued process improvement of all ACE specific aircraft syllabi along with the periodic training and tracking requirements of all pilot qualifications and currency. The TO will liaise with equivalent organizational headquarters TO’s to ensure clarification and consistency of companywide training policies and procedures.
Required to be an operationally active pilot within ATAC ACE
Responsible for overseeing all pilot training related activities under the purview of ACE and shall report to the DFO.
Responsible for creating, implementing and managing pilot training syllabi for ACE specific aircraft
Responsible for training, managing and documenting pilot Maintenance Check Flight qualifications
Responsible for maintaining and disseminating the latest threat tactics continuum training
Responsible for annual refresher briefs to include but not limited to Crew Resource Management, Egress, Water survival, Survival Gear, Low Altitude Refresher, and Physiology and Instrument refresher training
Coordinate monthly pilot training with assigned subject matter experts and ensure dissemination
Required to administer annual examinations to include written Open, Closed, Immediate Action Exams, and Limitation examinations.
Oversee Pilot flight hour requirements and submit monthly report to both the DFO and Vice President in addition to reporting of any inability for specific pilots to meet requirements.
Required to accurately maintain Pilot training folders and audit them on a periodic basis
Track and report to regional DO’s and DFO any pilot outside of currency requirements
Track and notify all pilots of their medical requirements
Track and coordinate FAA flight reviews and notify individual pilots accordingly
Required to report current Go/No-Go tracker to all pilots under ATAC ACE purview
Required to liaise with DOM and coordinate with Stan/Eval for related training scheduling.
Liaison with Stan/Eval and equivalent company TO’s for oversight of all revisions and changes to company policies and procedures related to training (Flight Operations Manual and training policies)
Previous formal Pilot Training Experience
10 years of prior Military Fighter Experience
Previous Supervisory/Management experience
BS/BA Degree required
Weapons School experience desired
Must maintain a security clearance
Clear written and verbal communications
Ability to Organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner
Excellent time management skills
Excellent attention to detail
Work well in a team environment
