The Georgia Department of Public Health is the lead agency entrusted by the people of the state of Georgia with the ultimate responsibility for the health of communities and the entire population.

The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of EMS Regional Training Coordinators within the Division of Health Protection, Emergency Medical Services Section.

There are 10 positions available, one for each regions listed below:

Region 1which includes the following counties:

Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Cherokee, Dade, Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Haralson, Murray, Paulding, Pickens, Polk, Walker and Whitfield

Region 2which includes the following counties:

Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union and White.

Region 3which includes the following counties:

Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton, Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale

Region 4which includes the following counties:

Butts, Carroll, Coweta, Fayette, Heard, Henry, Lamar, Meriwether, Pike, Spalding, Troup and Upson.

Region 5which includes the following counties:

Baldwin, Bibb, Bleckley, Crawford, Dodge, Hancock, Houston, Jasper, Johnson, Jones, Laurens, Monroe, Montgomery, Peach, Pulaski, Putnam, Telfair, Treutlen, Twiggs, Washington, Wheeler, Wilcox and Wilkinson.

Region 6which includes the following counties:

Burke, Columbia, Emanuel, Glascock, Jefferson, Jenkins, Lincoln, McDuffie, Richmond, Screven, Taliaferro, Warren and Wilkes.

Region 7which includes the following counties:

Chattahoochee, Clay, Harris, Macon, Marion, Muscogee, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Talbot, Taylor and Webster.

Region 8which includes the following counties:

Baker, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brooks, Calhoun, Colquitt, Cook, Crisp, Decatur, Dooly, Dougherty, Early, Echols, Grady, Irwin, Lanier, Lee, Lowndes, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, Sumter, Terrell, Thomas, Tift, Turner and Worth.

Region 9which includes the following counties:

Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Brantley, Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Candler, Charlton, Chatham, Clinch, Coffee, Effingham, Evans, Glynn, Jeff Davis, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Pierce, Tattnall, Toombs, Ware and Wayne.

Region 10which includes the following counties:

Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Jackson Madison, Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe and Walton.

  • Conduct a community needs analysis with input from, but not limited to, agency medical directors, local primary care physicians, community health organizations, EMS education programs, patient advocacy organizations, and of course, the local work force.

  • Research existing programs both in-state and out-of-state for best practices specific to provider education.

  • Develop regional/community EMS Mobile Integrated Healthcare education programs that are tailored to community needs.

  • Assist the Department in recruiting one or more local primary care providers to provide medical direction to regional/community EMS Mobile Integrated Healthcare education programs.

  • Recruit community subject matter experts to assist in the delivery of the regional/community EMS Mobile Integrated Healthcare education programs.

  • Coordinate the scheduling and administration of regional/community EMS Mobile Integrated Healthcare education programs.

  • Develop a validation tool to be used to evaluate the regional/community EMS Mobile Integrated Healthcare education programs.

High school diploma or GED AND Three years of experience providing educational, training or instructional services in functional area.
