Job Description:

SUMMARY:

The HRG-Training Specialist position is responsible for supporting progressive Human Resources systems, initiatives, and processes in the areas of recruitment/selection, benefits, compensation, and performance management as well as planning, developing, and implementing talent development programs, relational and technical training, grant programs, and engagement surveys as well as managing the training system.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Human Resources

• Assist with the administration and development of company-wide HR policies, procedures, and practices while maintaining compliance with applicable legal requirements

• Respond to inquiries regarding the organization’s processes, policies, procedures, and programs

• Interact with HR team members at other locations to support various projects and initiatives

• Coordinate distribution/communication of projects including but not limited to Associate Handbook, 401(k) Plan, health and other employee benefits

• Facilitate or counsel’s team members and leaders to resolve individual or team issues or conflicts

• Identify potential employee-relations issues and makes recommendations to resolve issues to respective leaders.

• Conduct thorough investigations with regard to claims of violations of Company policies or Code of Ethics e.g. harassment, discrimination etc.

• Assist in administration of company compensation and benefits programs

• Manage short-term disability and/or FMLA leave requests and claims

• Maintain job descriptions

• Administer HR-related systems, as needed

• Facilitate the hiring process with supervisors to include recruitment and team selection activities, conducting background/reference checks, wage negotiations, communications, etcetera

• Coordinate efforts to attract highly qualified candidates through multiple sources – recruiters, electronic boards, colleges/universities, job fairs and professional organizations in accordance with Affirmative Action Program

• Manage and promote Affirmative Action Program and activities

• Prepare effective reports and presentations, as needed

• Other tasks as assigned

Training Specialist

• Manage the training system to ensure employees are competent to perform work affecting conformity to product requirements

• Oversee the onboarding and orientation process

• Communicate and hold leaders accountable to meet training system requirements

• Maintain required training records and reports

• Support internal and external audits, as required

• Facilitate Quality Systems documentation relative to employee learning

• Research programs and content for training

• Execute classroom and e-learning training activities

• Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of training

• Facilitate the Talent Development and Succesion Planning process

• Assist with the administration of an organizational engagement / feedback / attitude survey and facilitate improvement processes based on the results

• Apply for and administer training grants

• Assist with the administration of educational reimbursement

• Other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business

• Minimum of three years related experience

• PHR, SPHR, or GPHR certifications preferred

• Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations

• Unquestionable integrity and ability to work in a highly confidential environment

• Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task

• Innovative team player

• Intermediate computer skills are required

• Commitment to excellence and high standards

• Sound judgment with the ability to make timely, and sometimes difficult, decisions

• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
