Job Summary

Provides support to instructors and students using the Blackboard Learning Management System and integrated digital teaching and learning technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists with support and training of faculty and students on the Blackboard Learning Management System and other online learning tools. Provides technical troubleshooting support to faculty and students using the Blackboard Learning Management System and other online tools. Meets support service levels with instructors and students through responsive and proactive contact via phone, email and in person. Ensures all course delivery systems and courses residing on them are properly functioning through the careful administration of the learning management system, compatibility testing of multiple operating systems, browsers, and plug-ins, etc. Updates online support documentation. Represents the University through professional organizations, presentations and training. Other functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology or other Bachelor’s degree with online course support or Learning Management System (LMS) administration. One (1) year of experience supporting development and delivery of online courses through Learning Management Systems. Experience with basic internet coding, graphic design, and other multimedia applications. Excellent communication (written and oral), customer service and problem solving skills via phone and email or the equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate degree in Instructional Technology or related field. Extensive experience training and supporting faculty in the use of learning management software for delivery of online learning. Experience in technical support of varied desktop platforms, browsers, and related plug-ins. Proficient in MS Office Suite. Basic knowledge of Macintosh. Help desk and training experience a plus.
